Dear friend,
Peniel camp near Porterville (CA) was not the largest camp. The time of the camp overlapped with the graduation period of many schools in California and it was only 3 weeks apart from the Memorial Day Youth Conference on the West Coast. Of course, there were other reasons as well for having only 83 people at this first camp in California (part time attenders included).
However, this camp was the best camp we’ve organized so far in USA. Focusing on the person and work of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God surprised us all from the very first public meeting. I have not felt the presence of God so strongly for years. The preaching of the Word, the long intensive prayers, the joyfull praise or the deep worship we’ve experienced were extraordinary. Several people were baptized in the Holy Spirit, others were refilled and the vast majority was refreshed by the Spirit. The unic thing of God’s working was the impartation of different gifts of the Spirit. It was such a blessing to see the dinamics of a small and young part of the Church ministering and building up each other in the Lord!
The spiritual gatherings were blended with lots of fun activities: rock repeling, hiking, wall climbing, canoing, zipp-line, ping-pong, pool table, etc.

Dragi prieteni,
Tabara Peniel de langa Porterville (CA) nu a fost una dintre cele mai mari. Perioada in care s-a desfasurat s-a suprapus cu cea a absolvirii din multe scoli din California, fiind totodata la numai trei saptamani distanta de conferinta de tineret de pe coasta de vest. Desigur, au existat si alte motive pentru care numarul participantilor la aceasta prima tabara din California s-a ridicat la numai 83 (incluzandu-i si pe cei care nu au stat pe toata durata taberei).
Totusi, tabara aceasta a fost cea mai buna dintre cele pe care le-am organizate pana acum in Statele Unite. Subiectul central a fost persoana si lucrarea Duhului Sfant, iar Duhul Domnului ne-a surprins inca de la prima intalnire. Nu am mai simtit de ani de zile prezenta lui Dumnezeu cu atata putere. Predicarea Cuvantului, rugaciunile prelungi si intense, lauda plina de bucurie la adresa Domnului si inchinarea profunda de care am avut parte au fost extraordinare! Mai multi tineri au fost botezati cu Duhul Sfant, altii au fost reumpluti, iar majoritatea au fost improspatati de Domnul. Un aspect unic al lucrarii lui Dumnezeu din tabara aceasta a fost inzestrarea unora dintre participanti cu diferite daruri ale Duhului. A fost o mare binecuvantare sa vedem dinamica unei mici parti a Bisercii, ale carei madulare se slujeau si se zideau reciproc.
Pe langa intalnirile spirituale, ne-am bucurat si de o multime de activitati recreative: drumetie, rapelare, catarare pe zid, canoe, tiroliana, ping-pong, biliard, etc.
Iata cateva dintre marturiile scrise pe care le-am primit de la participantii la tabara:
“Peniel a fost si va ramane in inima mea unul dintre cele mai bune lucruri de care am avut parte vreodata! Asteptam lucruri mari, dar experienta de acolo mi-a intrecut asteptarile. Timpul petrecut in prezenta lui Dumnezeu si in partasie cu ceilalti a fost de nedescris. Predicile au fost nemaipomenite si m-au atins cu adevarat. A fost una dintre cele mai bune saptamani din viata mea, asa ca ii incurajez pe toti sa vina la Peniel si sa petreaca timp impreuna cu prietenii si cu Dumnezeu!”
“Intreaga tabara a fost o experienta care mi-a schimbat viata si sunt super-multumitor ca am putut participa la ea. Marturia mea este ca Dumnezeu m-a umplut cu Duhul Sfant! Este asa de uimitor! Am mers la tabara cu asteptari mari, iar Dumnezeu le-a implinit pe toate.” J. H.
“Pe langa faptul ca am intalnit oameni minunati, Dumnezeu m-a binecuvantat cu botezul Duhului Sfant. Atmosfera care a inconjurat tabara si lucrarea aceasta difera de tot ce am mai intalnit pana acum. Liderii formau o mare familie, menita sa vegheze ca experienta noastra cu Dumnezeu sa corespunda invataturii Scripturii si sa ne incurajeze sa ne atingem potentialul deplin in Cristos.” G.R.
“Cam cu o saptamana inainte de plecarea in tabara Peniel, cei din familia mea au hotarat sa inceapa sa ma aduca in rugaciune si stiam ca Dumnezeu avea ceva pus deoparte pentru mine. In a doua zi a tabarei, Ron Brown a rostit o profetie privitoare la mine, care a fost raspunsul a luni intregi de rugaciune si de strigare aduse inaintea Domnului. A fost atat de uimitoare, incat am ramas uluita. Stiu ca Dumnezeu a dorit cu adevarat sa particip si ca El Isi va continua lucrarea in taberele Peniel.” S. N.
“Cand am ajuns la Peniel, aveam indoieli privitoare la ceea ce va urma. [...] Dumnezeu a fost printre noi intreaga saptamana si ne-a binecuvantat intr-un mod uimitor. Mi s-au deschis intr-adevar ochii si am inteles cat de real este Domnul. Pe langa faptul ca am fost reumplut cu Duhul Sfant, am avut parte de prima mea conversatie “fatza in fatza” cu Domnul si cu Duhul Sfant. [...] Dumnezeu mi-a descoperit o parte a planului Sau pentru viata mea si sunt incredintat ca ma va ajuta sa-l implinesc! El nu mi-a aratat doar lucrurile bune din viata mea, ci si pe cele rele. Ii multumesc fiindca mi-a spus cum sa ma apropii mai mult de El! Predicile au fost grozave, iar inchinarea mi-a placut in mod deosebit.” D. V.
Slava Domnului pentru tot ce a facut si va continua sa faca la Peniel!

Dear Freind in Christ:
Marvel and I have just returned from a 5-day “heaven-on-earth” spiritual experience at the Western Peniel Youth Camp held high in California Sierra mountains inside Sequoia National Park.
Every day, waves of spiritual glory engulfed the staff and all the Romanian young people present, with many receiving a Holy Spirit Baptism during the extended times of singing, praying, and waiting in the presence of the Lord.
Young people came to camp primarily from Romanian churches in Los Angeles, Sacramento and Phoenix. We met at the “Quaker Meadows” camp facility located at the 7,200 foot level. On this property is the locatiom of the magnificent “William Penn” Giant Sequoia tree.
Often, scheduled sessions at this Peniel event gave way to the urgent desire of the young people to wait before the Lord and pray for each other. It was so refreshing to see young people from different churches flowing together in spiritual unity. Many campers said this was the best Peniel camp yet.
Peniel events in Romania since ‘94 have often attracted thousands of Romanian young people, and blessed countless attendees. An Eastern States Peniel camp will take place in Tennessee later this summer. For more information anyone can contact penielcampusa@yahoo.com
Peniel Youth Ministries sprang to life in Romania in 1994 when two Bible college students felt a great need to draw their local youth groups into a much more dynamic relationship with God, the Holy Spirit. Oliver Oniga from Bistrita-Nassaud, and George Gavrus from Baia-Mare were exposed to outstanding guest lecturers from other countries at the Bible College they attended. These teachers exposed Oniga and Gavrus to the great movings of the Holy Spirit that were taking place among Christian young people worldwide.
As youth leaders in their respective home churches, these two young men became passionate to share this vision of a deeper spiritual lifestyle among the young church attenders of their post-revolutionary homeland. The committment was to work on behalf of local churches; and to bring “The Peniel Experience” to reality in the lives of as many sincere Romanian young people as possible. In a word: “Peniel” is the event taken from Jacob’s life as recorded in Genesis 32:24-30. There Jacob had a face-to-face encounter with God and was transformed to become a powerful servant of Jehovah.
Thus the nascent movement, bathed in prayer, sought to bring Romania’s Christian youth to their personal “Peniel” one at a time. Through the years, God has blessed this ministry in remarkable ways. In order to serve the new generation authentically, Peniel has remained “achored to the Rock, but creatively geared to the times.” As the Psalmist said, “We will tell the next geneation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, His power, and the wonders He has done,” (Psa. 78:4).
For nearly twenty years Marvel and I have been committed friends of Romania. We are really thrilled to see this rich “Peniel” expression of the Holy Spirit infusing so much life into today’s Romanian youth.
In 1990 a pastor in Oradea famously said, “I am thrilled at our new freedoms; but I shudder when I think of our lack of preparedness to take advantage of this great opportunity. We here in the East have the dedication. The Church in the West has the know-how. If we can somehow marry the devotion of the East with the skills of the West, I can hardly imagine what will happen. I believe a revival will start in Romania that may sweep across all of Europe and beyond.” I believe that Peniel is part of what that wise pastor was pleading for nearly two decades ago. It is a holy spark that ought to be nurtured and supported until all of Romania and Europe are ablaze with the flame.
I invite every Romanian pastor and Church leader to encourage their youth to make every effort to attend a Peniel camp. Better yet, why not plan to go yourself and give your spiritual support. We feel sure you will experience, as we did, several days of “heaven-on-earth” as you see God move in grace and power upon today’s emerging generation of the Church.

Cu adanca recunostinta fatza de Dumnezeu si harul Sau, dorim sa va multumim si voua pentru rugaciunile dv.
Redirectionarea primei tabere catre zonele sinistrate din MD s-a concretizat in 5 echipe de voluntari care au mers in Dorohoi si au ajutat fizic pe cei aflati in nevoie. Gestul tinerilor nu a ramas fara ecou: primaria din Dorohoi, fiind impresionata de voluntarii evanghelici care au mers sa slujeasca oamenii indiferent de religia lor, s-a oferit sa cazeze si sa hraneasca (doua mese pe zi) echipele noastre. Aceasta actiune, numita “Iubeste-ti aproapele”, continua sa se desfasoare pana in luna septembrie. Tabara Peniel din BH s-a incheiat cu bine saptamana trecuta. Dumnezeu ne-a binecuvantat intr-un mod deosebit! Vremea insorita (la inceput prea dogoritoare), locul frumos, Crisul Repede pe care tinerii au facut “rafting” cu salteaua, activitatile sportive si recreative etc. au fost cadre potrivite pentru ca cei peste 1100 de participanti (incluzand vizitatorii) sa poata experimenta unitatea frateasca, extrem de necesara pentru manifestarea prezentei lui Dumnezeu. Inchinarea neobstructionata, predicarea cu autoritate a Cuvantului si staruinta in rugaciune au fost ferestre prin care multi tineri au putut vedea cerul deschis. In urma intalnirii cu Dumnezeu, multi tineri L-au primit pe Isus ca Mantuitor in viata lor, au primit iertare si vindecare sufleteasca, au primit viziuni noi, au fost umpluti sau reumpluti cu Duhul Sfant si/sau au primit anumite daruri duhovnicesti. Toate aceste experiente au intarit tinerii in lupta spirituala (tema taberei) in care suntem angajati cu totii. De acum, nu ramane altfeva decat ca tinerii sa puna in practica hotararile bune luate la tabara si sa se avante cu mai multa ravna spre prima linie a razboiului spiritual, fiind convinsi ca victoria le este deja asigurata in Cristos.
Rugati-va ca Domnul sa ridice o generatie de tineri neinfricati si inzestrati cu puterea Sa, care sa spulbere randurile inamicului, largind astfel Imparatia lui Dumnezeu si smulgand din iad cat mai multi oameni pierduti!
Rugati-va si pentru actiunile Peniel care vor mai avea loc in aceasta toamna:
1. Conferinta familiilor tinere - 17-19 sept.
2. Conferinta tinerilor din Austria.
3. Conferinta tinerilor din Spania.
4. Conferinta regionala in RO.

At the beginning of this summer, Peniel International Ministries (PIM) had introduced to you the two summer camps it was about to organize in USA. At this moment I’m very happy to share with you the good news about these events.
1. Peniel Camp took place at the end of June (20-25) in Payson, Arizona. For more than half a year ago we planed to talk about spiritual warfare as the theme of this camp, but we did not plan to face the reality of this war. Well, it happened. And what a good lesson we’ve learned! In spite of some obstacles and opposition, we saw God’s Face and victory again. The messages preached were good and very good and God lifted our faith even more. At the end of that week, almost all the 189 participants (part-time attendees included) who came from 7 states (AZ, CA, OR, IL, MI, Canada & RO) confessed that this camp was a very good camp that helped them get much closer to God!
2. Camp Open Heaven (www.campopenheaven.com) took place at the end of July (25-31) near Montgomery, Alabama. At this camp we’ve all searched “after God’s own heart” (the title of the camp). The long worship time at the altars that surpassed sometimes the time of preaching were good proofs that youth are still longing to be transformed after God’s own heart. The fellowship, unity and good will of the 200 participants (part-time attendees included) who came from 13 states (GA, FL, AL, TN, KY, TX, AR, LA, IL, PA, NY, Austria & RO) made room for God’s manifested presence. Beside the majority of Romanian-American youth, at this camp also attended American youth of different descendance: Russian, Hispanic and Filipino.
Please continue to pray for:
1. The youth who attended these camps so that they will continue to follow God and be a blessing for their families and their local churches.
2. Favor and guidance in regard to future planning of these camps in USA. Peniel Camp 2011 will take place near Porterville, CA (www.quakermeadow.org) in June, 17-23. We’ll tell you more details about COH 2011 in the future.
3. Peniel camp in Romania. At this camp, that starts this Saturday, we expect about 800 participants.
4. Peniel conference in Spain (September, 10-12).

Dragi prieteni,
Multumim lui Dumnezeu pentru harul si puterea pe care Si-o manifesta in orice imprejurare in care ne-am afla (chiar si in perioada sesiunii sau a bacalaureatului!). Dumnezeu e specialist in administrarea crizelor de orice fel!
Am vazut deja puterea lui Dumnezeu impreuna cu cei peste 200 de participanti la prima tabara Peniel din Arizona - incluzand vizitatorii (vezi poze pe www.peniel.ro). Am simtit puterea Sa in toate slabiciunile noastre.
Daca doriti si voi sa experimentati puterea lui Dumnezeu, va invitam sa pasiti alaturi de noi pe “Drumul deSavarsit”, asa cum se intituleaza taberele Peniel din aceasta vara. Vom afla impreuna ca desavarsirea presupune un proces in care harul si puterea lui Dumnezeu merg mana in mana cu cooperarea si ascultarea omului.
In vara aceasta, pe langa sesiunile plenare, intentionam sa va oferim o varietate de sesiuni facultative, pe teme precum: muzica/inchinare, arts & crafts, vremurile din urma, ocultism, prim ajutor, orientare profesionala, conducere si misiune. In plus, o serie de activitati recreative va vor imbogati din plin timpul liber.
Alte detalii importante:
- Prima tabara Peniel va avea loc in perioada 18-25 iulie, pe teritoriul localitatii Borod, jud. BH (pe drumul E60, la 90 km distanta de Cluj-Napoca si 60 km de Oradea), pe Valea Rachitilor, inspre satul Serani (la aproximativ 8 km distanta de Borod).
Ne vor conduce in inchinare: Ekklesia si Peniel band.
Vor predica Evanghelia: Iosif Berce, Iuliu Centea, Gigi Cosman, Rick Cunningham, Raegan Glugosh, Adi Mocan, Lucian Oniga, Samy Tutac, Iulian Vacarean, Dani Vasut si altii.
Vor tine seminarii facultative: Ana Banc, Daniel Bujenita, Adi Fisca, Jennifer Lee, Ruben Mihai, Cristi Soimaru si Iulian Vacarean.
- A doua tabara va avea loc in perioada 8-15 august, la 10 km de Zarnesti, jud. BV (in apropiere de Piatra Craiului, pe valea Barsa Fierului).
Ne vor conduce in inchinare: Faclia worship band si Alt mod.
Vor predica Evanghelia: Laurentiu Balcan, Iosif Belea, Dani Bujenita, Flaviu Coman, Rick Cunningham, George Gavrus, Lucian Oniga, Anca Sofronie si altii.
Vor tine seminarii facultative: Adi Fisca, Jennifer Lee, Cristi Soimaru, Tiberiu Sofronie, Vali Suhan, Iulian Vacarean, Szabi Zsoldos.
Daca doriti sa participati la aceste tabere va trebui sa indepliniti urmatoarele CONDITII:
1. Inscrieti-va pe internet la www.peniel.ro pana la data limita de 10 IULIE pt. prima tabara, respectiv 31 IULIE pt. tabara a doua (se cere un lider la maxim 20 persoane!); locurile sunt limitate la 800 pentru fiecare tabara!
2. Achitati in avans contributia pentru participare (30 lei) in contul Fundatiei Peniel - RO40BRDE445SV75185024450 deschis la BRD, sucursala Stefan cel Mare, Bucuresti (validarea inscrierii pentru tabara se va face dupa achitarea contributiei)!
3. Respectati regulamentul de ordine interioara (vezi regulamentul pe site)!
4. Asigurati-va cazarea si masa pe toata perioada taberei (la locul taberei vor fi si chioscuri ambulante cu diverse produse alimentare)!
Nu uitati sa aduceti cu voi: cort, folie de cort, sac de dormit, pelerina de ploaie, haine groase, lanterna, Biblie, caiet de notite, etc.
Pana atunci, va rugam sa postiti si sa va rugati impreuna cu noi pe 3 iulie si 3 august, ca Dumnezeu sa pregateasca inimile participantilor la tabere pentru a accepta voia Lui pe Drumul deSavarsit.

Peniel Camp in USA
Greetings! Dear friend!
I hope you are doing fine and growing every day in the relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ!
If you want to grow even more in the knowledge of Christ by experiencing Him in a very real way, I want to invite you to come to the first Peniel camp in USA that will be held in Payson, Arizona at Tonto Rim Christian camp - www.tontorimcamp.com (see this site for more details).
Bearing the title Extreme Experience, this camp invites all the Romanian-American youth who want to “taste and see that the LORD is good!” (Psalm 34:8a) to an unforgettable week where they will experience God as Savior, Deliverer, Healer and Baptizer in the Holy Spirit. You can be one of them!
The camp will start on Monday, the 25th of May, and will end on Saturday, the 30th of May. The word of God will be preached by Cornel AVRAM, Ron BROWN, Nelu FILIP, Lazar GOG, Petru LASCAU, Marinel MESAROS, Lucian ONIGA, Leonard SEMENEA, plus other youth pastors/leaders from Arizona.
Worship will be led by Peniel band - AZ and other bands from the Romanian Pentecostal churches in Phoenix area.
The total participation fee for the camp that includes housing, 3 meals a day and all the preaching/teaching sessions and activities (see the camp site; horseback riding and paint ball are excluded) is only $200. You are expected to bring the bed sheets and sleeping bag!

The number of our camper is limited to 250, therefore, be among the first to register! We would appreciate very much if the above requests will be done by the leader that will join your group (one leader at max. 20 people).
